December is here and Christmas cheer is being spread throughout the nursery for sure, because the festive season is upon us once more!

In each room staff and children have been decorating their rooms bright and colourful giving us all a cheerful, happy feeling. At the beginning of the month we asked all of our parents to provide pictures of their families as this year we might not be able to be with them as we normally do, so from all of the photos that we received we have made a special display in the corridor for all the children and staff to see as they enter and leave the nursery – its something that has been really lovely to see.

Throughout the month the children in each room have been busy learning about Christmas and winter through their Christmas activities. We have had many opportunities to be creative from making their own stockings, presents and cards to send to their families to making and decorating their own Christmas ornaments and festive cookies – as well as eating them! We even had a very special visit from Santa and his elf this year and he left us all a present to take home!

Over Christmas week all children have joined in with our two Christmas parties, a hot chocolate and cookies day and the children in the older rooms enjoyed a movie day whilst the younger children enjoyed a soft play day. During these last two weeks of December, children and staff members wore Christmas tops and jumpers too!

It has been a great festive season here at the nursery and we would like to wish all of our families a lovely and safe Christmas and a very Happy New Year – We look forward to welcoming you back to nursery in 2021!
